High temperature O-rings

High temperature O-rings are made of a special material that is less likely to harden or crack at high temperatures. They are often used in extreme conditions such as oil refineries and chemical processing plants where the temperature can reach up to 350°F (177°C).

This product is a must for any application that requires a seal in extreme environments. They are made from an advanced synthetic rubber that can withstand high temperatures and pressures, making them ideal for use in engines and other automotive applications. For instance, if you need to seal a gasket or an engine block, high temperature o rings will do the job perfectly.

High temperature O-rings are available in various sizes and styles to suit your needs. The most common type is the standard flat-face (or flat-face) rubber O ring. These are ideal for applications where pressure may be applied to the face of the ring as opposed to its sides. This makes them perfect for sealing gaskets and other parts of engines or pumps that require some form of force to keep them together.

Another common type of high temperature O-rings is the wire-reinforced (wire-reinforced) silicone O ring. This type of O ring is designed with a wire mesh embedded inside it so that it can withstand even greater amounts of pressure than regular silicone O rings can handle. They are usually used in situations where there is a great deal of friction or tension between two objects being sealed together by means of an O ring, such as when sealing a cylinder head on an automobile.

High temperature O-rings can be made from many materials, including:

Other types include:

Nitrile: Nitrile rubber is the most common material used for high temperature O-rings. It comes in various durometers (hardness) depending on how much pressure you need it to withstand. The higher the durometer number, the harder the nitrile rubber. In general, nitrile has a great deal of resistance to weathering and abrasion, but it does not hold up well under tension and may tear apart if overstretched.

Silicone: This material has excellent resistance to high temperatures and chemicals which makes it ideal for applications such as food processing machinery where chemicals are present in the environment. It also has good compression set characteristics which means it will return back to its original shape after being compressed under pressure for some time. However, silicone rubber doesn’t offer much resistance to oils or solvents so it should only be used in environments with minimal amounts of oil or solvent exposure.

Benefits

The main benefit of using high temperature O-rings is that they can withstand high temperatures.

The temperature range for most standard silicone o rings is from -60 to +250 degrees Fahrenheit, but there are some silicone O-rings made specifically for higher temperatures.

They have low compression set which means that they do not lose their shape once they come into contact with heat

They have low creep properties which make them last longer than other types of seals like metal-to-metal seals which tend to deform over time due to continuous use at high temperatures

High temperature o rings do not need any lubrication for them to function properly since they are designed for conditions where there is no lubricant present or when using lubricants would only aggravate matters instead of making things better.

These are called High Temperature Silicone O-Rings and they can withstand much higher temperatures than their standard counterparts. In fact, they can withstand temperatures up to 500°F (260°C), which is more than enough for any project.

High temperature O-rings are commonly used in automotive applications, where the piston or cylinder block is connected by an engine or transmission fluid line that must withstand high temperatures. The silicone rubber can handle the heat without melting or leaking out of its seal.

Applications for High-Temperature O-Rings

Instruments exposed to extreme temperatures requires robust components be used, including for O-rings. Our O-rings products help contain heated and highly-pressurized fluids such as fuel or lubricants within all manner of equipment. Temperature-resistant O-rings are used in many industries, from chemical processing to oil and grass drilling, and in applications as diverse as rockets to racecars.

Applications for high-temperature O-rings include:

  • Refrigerators and other cooling equipment
  • Pressurized waterjet cutters
  • Piping used for transport within petroleum refineries and drilling operations
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Medical equipment
  • Manufacturing equipment
  • Laboratory equipment
  • Hydraulic equipment
  • Food and beverage processing
  • Engines in motor vehicles
  • Chemical processing
  • Aircraft and spacecraft
